National Day of Action for Legalization and a Moratorium on Deportation
Rally and March for Immigrant Rights: National Day of Action for Legalization and a Moratorium on Deportation After a rally at Brittingham Park, those gathered will leave down Park St. at 1:00 pm and march to the Labor Fest outside the Madison Labor Temple, 1602 S. Park St. (the South Central Federation of Labor welcomes all immigrants), where there will be live music, children's entertainment, booths and displays, food and drinks for sale. Join the Madison Area Peace coalition contingent to march - you can locate us by our large banner at the Brittingham rally. April 10th Coalition is holding a rally and march for immigrant rights as part of a National Day of Action on Labor Day, called by the newly formed National Alliance for Immigrant Rights. On Aug.19th, the April 10th Coalition meeting voted to rally and march in solidarity with Whitewater workers detained by ICE, as well as with Cleanpower employees who are trying to organize for better working conditions and fair wages. There are three main pick-up points for flyers: UW MEChA office, MundoLatino, and Rainbow Bookstore. We ask everyone to help publicize this event and join in solidarity.
