Emergency Demonstration on Fallujah
EMERGENCY RESPONSE DEMONSTRATION to protest the escalation of the war in Iraq set in motion by the assault on the city of Fallujah. Not a campaign to subdue "the terrorists," nor part of a strategy to "bring democracy and freedom" or to "liberate" Iraq, the current military offensive at Fallujah is aimed at crippling an ever growing resistance, the insurgency against an illegal and criminal US occupation. Coming in tandem with a newly decreed 60-day martial law imposed by the US-installed prime minister, this latest unleashing of US firepower will not subdue or defeat the opposition, but will only assure more destruction, suffering and increased casualties among the occupied and the occupier.MAPC and Stop the War call upon all groups and individuals concerned with the stepped-up U.S. military offensive in Iraq to gather at the fountain on the U.W. Library Mall at 4:00pm, Thursday, November 11th, Veteran's Day. An informational protest picket will then proceed to the corners of Park and University Ave. in time for the evening rush hour. Bring signs, banners, flyers, drums, noise makers, friends, co-workers, class mates, housemates, soul mates, and comrades. As the war escalates, so must the anti-war movement! Say no to this criminal war! End the Assault on Fallujah! No to the Escalation! U.S. Out of Iraq! U.S. Out of the Middle East!! Bring the Troops Home Now! |
